Solar Water Heaters provide hot water, using solar energy. A Solar Water Heater comprises of an array of solar collectors to collect solar energy and an insulated tank, to store the hot water. During the daytime, water in solar collectors gets heated; which is either pumped or flows into the storage tank. Hot water can then be stored and used for various purposes.
There are typically two types of Solar Water Heaters,
a) Flat plate collectors (FPC), and
b) Evacuated tube collectors (ETC).
Flat plate collector (FPC) based systems are of metallic type and have longer life as compared to Evacuated tube collector (ETC) based system are made of glass which is fragile in nature.

On-grid solar power system is a solar power generation system where it is connected to the utility grid. The electricity produced by the system is routed to the grid from where it is used to run the various appliances.
